Greenhouse Talk

View one of our growing areas to investigate the basic needs of plants. Our staff will discuss how different varieties of plants have adapted to grow in their natural habitats which can often affect their physical characteristics and growth habits. Hear a brief explanation about how a greenhouse structure provides an ideal habitat for plants that would otherwise be impacted throughout the changing seasons in Southwestern Ontario.

Clay Pot Painting &

Plant Transplanting

In this activity, students will use acrylic paint to create a dot art design on a small clay pot. They will then visit our garden center to pick out their very own 2.5” tropical, sansevieria, or succulent plant.

Our staff will teach students how to properly transplant their selection into their painted pot and top off the small arrangement with coloured gravel. Finally, students will receive care tips to set them up for success with their little plant at home.
