Retail Sales Manager

​We’re seeking an outgoing, energetic, and hardworking leader to join our team.  This role is ideal for someone who excels in customer service, enjoys leading a team and can manage day-to-day operations.

​

  JOB SUMMARY  

Colasanti’s Tropical Gardens is actively seeking a Retail Sales Manager.  The successful candidate oversees all areas of our facility apart from the restaurant; this includes scheduling, staff management, recreation, retail and plants.  This role involves collaborating within a team to solve problems creatively, while training and supporting staff, and managing inventory levels of products and supplies.

  JOB RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Greet customers, answer questions, and resolve complaints and inquiries

  • Open and close the facility, including managing alarms and securing entrances

  • Ensure employees have the necessary supplies for the day (e.g., wristbands, vegetables, tokens)

  • Order, receive, and process merchandise, including plants, shelf-stable food, fresh produce, and supplies for school groups

  • Oversee inventory management, including purchasing, pricing, and stock replenishment to ensure product availability

  • Support hiring processes, including interviewing and conducting new hire orientations and tours

  • Coordinate school field trips with team members, ensuring all supplies are prepared and events run smoothly

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, and company policies and procedures

  • Other duties as required

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

  • Friendly, outgoing and approachable demeanor

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills

  • Leadership or supervisory experience

  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills

  • Knowledge of retail, agriculture, or plants an asset

  • Comfortable with basic computer programs

Bookings and Events Coordinator

We’re seeking an outgoing, energetic, and hardworking leader to join our team.  This role is ideal for someone who enjoys customer service, organizing, planning, and leading group events.

​

  JOB SUMMARY  

Colasanti’s Tropical Gardens is actively seeking a Booking & Events Coordinator.  The successful candidate will work with the Marketing and Management team to facilitate, organize, plan and lead group events.   Our busiest season is between April and June and has the potential to keep growing in the fall season.   This role involves collaborating within a team to solve problems creatively, while training and supporting guests, and managing inventory levels of products and supplies for the events.

  JOB RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Plan and organize events, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently with all materials prepared in advance

  • Coordinate and work with diverse groups, including school groups, summer camps, and adult participants

  • Facilitate and lead educational classes and workshops

  • Set up and tear down workshop and event spaces

  • Monitor and manage inventory of materials to ensure all required supplies are available for programs

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, and company policies and procedures

  • Other duties as required

Retail Sales Associate

​We’re seeking an outgoing, energetic, and hardworking individual to join our Retail Garden Center and Home Décor teams. This role is perfect for someone with excellent customer service skills, who enjoys helping customers find the perfect plants, pottery, ceramics, and home accessories to suit their needs.

​

  JOB SUMMARY  

Colasanti’s Tropical Gardens is actively seeking a creative and energetic Retail Sales Associate to join our team, guiding customers with friendly and helpful suggestions to enhance their shopping experience and make it enjoyable.

​

  JOB RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Greet customers, answer questions and guide them to locate the items they are looking for

  • Stock and price a wide variety of plants and home décor product

  • Lift and move heavy plants, pottery, and pull plant carts

  • Help create and build displays and seasonal presentations

  • Answer questions in person and over the phone

  • Cleaning, sweeping, wiping and organizing our plant and home décor displays

  • Help process sales at the registers and support coverage of breaks and lunches if needed

  • Experience in a horticultural customer service role and/or in a customer service role is considered an asset

Other duties as required

  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays and varying shifts as necessary

  • Lifting and/or carrying of merchandise items, as required, on a regular, frequent and unassisted basis. Merchandise items may vary in weight from “light” to “heavy”.

  • Lifting and turning repeatedly throughout the shift. Lifting above the shoulder, from floor to shoulder and floor to waist.

  • Walking and carrying at the same time and pushing/pulling, as required.

  • Twisting, turning, reaching and working above shoulder level.
