Plant Care Tips & Tricks

Hoya Crimson

Hoyas, also known as wax plants, are beloved for their thick, glossy leaves and clusters of fragrant, star-shaped flowers. These low-maintenance plants are perfect for hanging baskets or climbing trellises. Hoyas are drought-tolerant, making them a great choice for both beginner and seasoned plant enthusiasts.

Varieties: Pubicalyx, Carnosa Crimson Queen, Australis Lisa, Wayetii, Carnosa Tricolour, Curtisii, Compacta Rope, Heart, Kerrii, Pachyclada,

Lighting: These plants thrive in bright, indirect light. They can tolerate some direct morning sun, but avoid harsh afternoon rays which can scorch the leaves. Insufficient light may reduce flowering.

Irrigation: Allow the soil to slightly dry between thorough irrigations. Water until liquid runs from drainage holes at the bottom of the pot and discard excess water. Do not allow your plant to sit in standing water as it will lead to root rot. Allowing soil to slightly dry permits oxygen to reach the roots.

Humidity: Hoyas adapt to average household humidity but will appreciate the use of a pebble tray, humidifier, or occasional misting.

Fertilizer: Use a balanced fertilizer during spring and summer. Follow package recommendations.
