Pellionia

Plant Care Tips & Tricks

Watermelon pellionia

Pellionia, often known as the Watermelon Begonia, is a captivating tropical plant celebrated for its distinctive, patterned leaves. With its vibrant, metallic-green foliage featuring striking watermelon-like patterns, Pellionia adds a splash of colour and texture to any plant collection.

Lighting: Prefers bright, indirect light. It can tolerate lower light conditions but will grow more slowly and may not display its full color. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.

Irrigation: Allow the soil to slightly dry between thorough irrigations. Water until liquid runs from drainage holes at the bottom of the pot and discard excess water.

Humidity: Pellionia appreciate a boost in humidity through the use of a humidifier, pebble tray, or occasional misting.

Fertilizer: Feed once a month during the summer using a balanced fertilizer. Follow package recommendations.
