Alocasia
Plant Care Tips & Tricks

Alocasias are stunning tropical houseplants that add a touch of drama to any space. They are recognized for their lush, glossy leaves that vary in size, colour and patterning depending on the cultivar. Each unique variety is eye-catching and décor-worthy.
Varieties: Regal Shield, Tiny Dancer, Bambino, Black Velvet, Melo, Pink Dragon, Polly, Cuprea, Silver Dragon, Velvet Elvis, Bisma, Sarian, Elephant Ears, Portodora, Azlanii
Lighting: These plants enjoy bright, indirect sunlight. Avoid direct sun which is likely to cause burnt foliage.
Irrigation: Allow the soil to slightly dry between thorough irrigations. Water until liquid runs from drainage holes at the bottom of the pot and discard excess water. Do not allow your plant to sit in standing water as it will lead to root rot. Allowing soil to slightly dry permits oxygen to reach the roots.
Humidity: Alocasias can adapt to lower humidity levels but will flourish in an environment with more moisture. You can add humidity around your plant by placing it on a pebble tray or misting it occasionally.
Fertilizer: Alocasias only require fertilizer in spring, summer, and early autumn. Use a balanced fertilizer and follow package recommendations.
