Aluminum Plants
Plant Care Tips & Tricks

This tropical is named for the silver flecks on its shiny green leaves. Aluminum, or Pilea Cadierei, has an easy-going nature which makes it a wonderful house plant. Annual pruning encourages the plant to produce more leaves and keeps it looking full.
Lighting: This plant prefers indirect, bright light to maintain its unique colouring. Avoid direct sun which is likely to cause burnt foliage.
Irrigation: Allow the soil to slightly dry between thorough irrigations. Water until liquid runs from drainage holes at the bottom of the pot and discard excess water. Do not allow your plant to sit in standing water as it will lead to root rot. Allowing soil to slightly dry permits oxygen to reach the roots.
Humidity: This plant adjusts well to average household humidity.
Fertilizer: Fertilize monthly during Spring and Summer. Use a balanced fertilizer and follow package instructions.
