African Violet

Plant Care Tips & Tricks

African Violet

The African Violet is an elegant plant, loved for its cheerful blooms and somewhat fuzzy foliage. It is a compact, low-growing plant that doesn't require much space to display its showy flowers. As African Violets come in many leaf forms and flower colours, you are sure to find one that suits your decor needs.

Lighting: This plant enjoys bright indirect lighting conditions. Direct sun will burn its beautiful flower petals.

Irrigation: Allow the soil to slightly dry between thorough irrigations. Water until liquid runs from drainage holes at the bottom of the pot and discard excess water. Do not allow your plant to sit in standing water as it will lead to root rot. Avoid getting the leaves of this plant wet when watering.

Humidity: African violets adjust well to average household humidity. We do not recommend using a mister around African violets as it can cause leaf rot.

Fertilizer: Feed once a month during the summer using a balanced fertilizer.
