Field Trip catalogue
School Field Trip Packages are available Monday-Friday.
Not available on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
This package includes the following activites:
2. Indoor Animal Area Activities
-
Our zookeeper will provide a 10 minute meet and greet so students can get up close and personal with an animal friend.
-
Next, students will learn how our zookeepers use enrichment- games, toys, and other creative challenges- to keep our animals active and engaged. Students will have the chance to see one of these activities in action as it’s introduced into an animal habitat.
-
Finally, you'll enjoy a self-guided scavenger hunt, allowing students to observe different types of animals in their habitats and compare their physical characteristics.
1. Greenhouse Talk & Planting Activity (40 min)
-
Explore one of our growing areas while learning about plant needs, natural adaptations, and how these influence their appearance and growth. Discover how greenhouse structures create ideal conditions for plants year-round in Southwestern Ontario.
-
Students will use acrylic paint and brushes to decorate a small clay pot. Our knowledgeable staff will then guide them step by step to transplant a 2.5" poinsettia into their beautifully painted creations. To add a special finishing touh, students will top off the mini arrangement with colourful gravel.
